In Batken Region, two died and one was rescued after a gas leak in a mine

As a result of a gas leak in a mine located in the village of Samarkandek in the Batken region, two people died, and one miner was rescued. This was reported by the press center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The incident occurred on March 7 at a depth of about 200 meters in the mine of Batken Munai LLC, where three workers were present.

At the scene, 13 rescuers from the Mountain Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were working. Rescuers were able to retrieve the bodies of the two deceased and hand them over to law enforcement agencies. One of the miners was successfully brought to the surface and handed over to medical personnel.

In addition, 18 mine workers who suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning sought help at the Batken District Hospital. Doctors assess their condition as satisfactory.

After the rescue operations were completed, a barrier was installed at a depth of 40 meters in the mine, after which the rescuers returned to their permanent place of service.
