GKNB: The 'Orozaly' Pawnshop in Talas Voluntarily Returned Property to Citizens

Previously, Kyrgyz citizens handed over documents for their homes as collateral

The 'Orozaly' pawnshop has decided to return property that was unlawfully seized from citizens. This was reported by the press service of the GKNB.

GKNB specialists, together with the Talas State Tax Service, the regional office of the National Bank, and the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, conducted a series of activities during which the pawnshop acknowledged the validity of the complaints filed and the violations of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic that were identified.

As a result, a residential house belonging to the former owner S.U.U. (the borrower) was returned. Additionally, 10 citizens were able to retrieve documents for their real estate that had previously been used as collateral.

The management of the pawnshop expressed its readiness to compensate borrowers for the excessively charged interest exceeding 30% per annum, starting from the summer of 2024 to the present moment. Citizens can address their issues in the established manner.

The 'Orozaly' pawnshop apologized to the affected individuals and confirmed that it will act strictly within the framework of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the future.
