According to the Internal Affairs Department, a 22-year-old resident of Osh, A.B., approached the police station and reported that he had become a victim of blackmail. On February 10 of this year, while he was in a car with a girl in the underground parking lot of one of the buildings on Shakirov Street, two men—M.S. and Ch. uulu B.—approached them.
The criminals claimed that they had a video capturing the "inappropriate behavior" of the couple and demanded 100,000 soms, threatening to publish this video on social media. Under pressure from the blackmailers, the young man transferred 50,000 soms to an electronic wallet, and he was supposed to pay the remaining amount later.
As reported by the Internal Affairs Department, on February 13, the extortionists contacted the young man again, demanding the remaining part of the debt. Operatives involved in the fight against extremism and illegal migration detained the suspects while they were receiving 500 dollars in cash.
Detained individuals:
S.M. — a 21-year-old resident of Osh, currently unemployed.
Ch. uulu B. — a 24-year-old resident of the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region.
Both suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code, and a criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of Article 208 (extortion) of the Criminal Code.
