On February 11, 2026, M. E., born in 1992, approached law enforcement officials requesting action against her ex-husband. She reported that he had come to her home again, insulted her, and used physical force, including twisting her arms.
According to information gathered by the investigation, since their divorce in August 2020, the man has repeatedly committed acts of violence. From 2025 to 2026, she reported this to law enforcement, but the measures taken were limited to administrative actions, and the violence continued.
As a result of the investigative actions, a criminal case was initiated under Article 138 "Torture" of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan. The suspect A. A., born in 1989, has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department.
