The employees of the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk district of Bishkek reported the detention of a man suspected of systematic violence against his wife. Information about the incident was provided by the press service of the department.
On January 27, 2026, a woman named M. D. contacted the police with a statement in which she reported that her husband, M. D., had subjected her to both physical and psychological violence for a long time.
It is worth noting that protective orders had previously been issued against this man due to instances of domestic violence. Nevertheless, despite the measures taken by law enforcement, he continued his criminal actions, causing his wife physical and moral suffering.
Based on the collected materials, the actions of the suspect were classified as "torture" in accordance with the criminal legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. A criminal case was initiated by the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk district under Article 138, Part 3 (torture) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The man, born in 1977, was taken to the Investigative Service and, in accordance with the procedure provided for by Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek.
Currently, all necessary investigative actions are ongoing within the framework of the initiated criminal case.
