The detention is related to a case concerning the "creation of artificial reasons for periodic queues at the checkpoint 'Dostuk - Avtodorozhny.'"
According to the investigation, A. N. O. regularly received monetary payments through intermediaries for the unhindered passage of foreign citizens across the border of Kyrgyzstan and provided "protection" to individuals engaged in illegal activities at the border.
"Currently, active investigative and operational actions are underway to identify other officials involved in this crime," the official statement notes. Work is also being carried out to improve the conditions for crossing the border for citizens.
