The investigation revealed that he created artificial queues at the checkpoint, after which he regularly received money through intermediaries for the expedited passage of foreign citizens across the border.
In addition, according to the GKNB, the detainee provided protection to certain individuals engaged in illegal activities at the border. He is currently in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
The agency also reports that a comprehensive set of investigative and operational measures is ongoing to identify other officials involved in this crime. At the same time, work is being carried out to create conditions for the safe and comfortable crossing of the state border for all citizens.
