As a result of an investigation conducted by the State Committee for National Security, instances of corruption were discovered at the 'Dostuk-Road' checkpoint. The committee reported that on February 2, 2026, in the course of the fight against corruption, the head of the 'Dostuk-Road' checkpoint in the Osh region, A.N.O., was detained and is now in the detention center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the investigation, this official regularly received money through intermediaries for the unhindered passage of foreign citizens across the border of the Kyrgyz Republic. Additionally, he created artificial queues at the checkpoint and provided support to individuals engaged in criminal activities at the border.
Currently, active investigative and operational actions are ongoing to identify other officials who may also be involved in this crime. At the same time, work is being done to improve conditions for citizens crossing the state border.
