According to the GKNB press service, this employee systematically used intermediaries to receive monetary payments for facilitating the passage of foreign citizens through the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. In addition, he provided support to certain individuals engaged in illegal activities at the border.
After the detention, the suspect was placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
Currently, efforts are underway to identify other officials who may be connected to this crime, as well as to create more comfortable conditions for citizens crossing the state border, the state committee noted.
