Over 8,000 traffic accidents registered in Kyrgyzstan in 2025

In 2025, more than 8 thousand traffic accidents were recorded in Kyrgyzstan.
The main factors contributing to these accidents include speeding, improper maneuvers, crossing into oncoming traffic, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to take measures at intersections, ignoring traffic signs, and not maintaining distance.
This information was presented at today's meeting dedicated to the results of the operational and service activities of the Main Department for Road Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2025.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktay Urmambetov, Head of the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ulan Biibosunov, Head of the Main Department of Road Traffic Safety Azhenbek Kozukeev, and other leaders of territorial units.
At the beginning of the event, the best employees were awarded, after which both achievements and shortcomings in their work were discussed. The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs called for strict adherence to service discipline, improvement of professional training for employees, and increased control during recruitment, as well as a respectful attitude towards drivers.
Special attention was given to issues of digitalization, development of a service-oriented approach, interaction with local government bodies, and strengthening control over the issuance of licenses to taxi drivers, as well as preventing traffic accidents.
As a result of the discussion, instructions were given to promptly address the identified shortcomings, and disciplinary measures were applied to a number of employees.
