People were also placed in isolation rooms without toilets for 8 days

According to information provided by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), serious violations were discovered in the activities of the rehabilitation center "Path to Life" in Bishkek. This institution operated as a private medical-psychiatric facility that treated various addictions; however, it turned out that it was functioning with gross violations of the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.
The staff of the center, most of whom were former addicts, did not have higher medical education or the necessary licenses. Under the administration's guidance, they conducted so-called "pseudo-psychiatric" procedures and conversations. In cases where patients experienced acute psychological crises, cruel methods that humiliated human dignity were applied.
Physical force was used to "subdue" patients, as well as special devices such as beds with restraining straps, electric shock devices, and objects resembling truncheons. These actions led to physical injuries and severe psychological consequences for the victims.
As punishment for "disobedience," patients were placed in isolation rooms, isolating them from the outside world. In such rooms, with boarded-up windows, individuals were not provided with personal hygiene products, forcing them to use diapers and remain in these conditions for 7-8 days.
Moreover, the owners of the rehabilitation center engaged in illegal entrepreneurial activities. The cost of rehabilitation for one patient reached 80,000 soms. At the same time, the relatives of the patients were not informed about the methods used for their "treatment."
The center also lacked separation of patients by types of infectious and venereal diseases, such as HIV, tuberculosis, syphilis, and others. All patients were kept in common conditions, creating a risk of transmission of these diseases.
As a result of operational activities, several individuals were detained, including "I.R.K.", "M.Dzh.N.", "E.A.V.", "M.I.M.", "M.V.A.", "T.Ch.A.", "K.K.I.", and "Kh.S.V.", who were placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department.
The GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic calls on anyone who has suffered from the actions of the mentioned individuals to contact the duty service of the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic for the Chui region at the phone number: 0312530301.
