In Thailand, a construction crane collapsed onto cars on the highway
The incident took place during the construction of an elevated expressway on Rama-2 Road in Samut Sakhon province, located southeast of the capital. As a result of the crane's fall, several vehicles were crushed by heavy steel structures.
According to preliminary data from volunteers, one person has died, although official authorities have not yet confirmed this information. Rescue operations are ongoing.
This incident occurred against the backdrop of the conclusion of search efforts to find survivors after a train accident in Nakhon Ratchasima on January 14, where the death toll reached at least 32 people. It is also worth noting that projects on Rama-2 Road have faced criticism for low safety standards following several serious incidents in recent years.
