Mass arrests of officials at weight and dimension posts on the Bishkek - Osh road

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported that serious violations were identified at the weight and dimension posts located on the Bishkek - Osh highway. As a result of the inspections conducted, several individuals working at these posts were detained. According to the agency, the police received reports of abuses by employees responsible for monitoring at the weight and dimension checkpoints, which are under the Department of Ground and Water Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to preliminary data, between 150 and 200 trucks pass through these posts daily.
Based on the collected data, the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case under Article 337 "Abuse of official position" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Among those detained were employees of the weight and dimension post: A.Z. (born in 1991), S.U. (born in 1981), A.A. (born in 1998), A.R. (born in 1994), M.M. (born in 1979), T.T. (born in 1973), and A.B. (born in 1994). They were all placed under arrest as a preventive measure.
