President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with Raffaele Chiulli, President of the International Motorboat Federation (UIM), on March 14.
According to the press service of the administration, the parties discussed the prospects for developing cooperation in the field of motorboat sports, as well as the possibility of organizing competitions under the auspices of UIM in Kyrgyzstan.
Sadyr Japarov noted that hosting the World Championship in the country would be a significant event. This is especially important against the backdrop of the active development of international cooperation of Kyrgyzstan in the field of sports, tourism, and the organization of major events.
In this regard, he mentioned the existence of two international airports in the Issyk-Kul region — in Karakol and Tamchy, which welcome tourists. Additionally, five-star and seven-star hotels are being constructed along the lake's shore.
Raffaele Chiulli, for his part, emphasized that the World Cup represents a large-scale festival of motorboat sports, including the World Championship in royal boat racing of the F1H2O class and demonstration races in jet skiing, motor surfing, and hydro-flying.
He added that similar competitions had previously taken place in countries such as China, the UAE, Qatar, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam, and noted that water racing is one of the most exciting sports, broadcast in over 86 countries, reaching more than 900 million viewers.
At the end of the meeting, Sadyr Japarov and Raffaele Chiulli expressed confidence that hosting the UIM F1H2O World Cup in Central Asia would not only showcase the tourist potential of Issyk-Kul but also serve as an effective tool for promoting the national brand on the international stage.
