Formula 1 on water may take place at Issyk-Kul. Japarov met with the head of UIM
On March 14, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, held a meeting with Raffaele Chiulli, the president of the International Union of Motorboating (UIM). The press service of the head of state reported this event.

During the discussion, the parties explored opportunities for cooperation in the field of motorboating and the organization of events under the auspices of UIM in Kyrgyzstan.

Japarov noted that the union's readiness to organize the world championship in the country is an important step. He emphasized the active development of international cooperation by Kyrgyzstan in the areas of sports, tourism, and the organization of large events in recent years.

The president also pointed out the presence of two international airports in the Issyk-Kul region — in Karakol and Tamchy, which actively receive tourists. Additionally, there are plans to build five-star and seven-star hotels on the shores of the lake.

Raffaele Chiulli, for his part, spoke about the World Cup as a major festival of motorboating, which includes the world championship in F1H2O boat racing, as well as demonstration performances in jet skiing, motor surfing, and hydro-flying.

He added that similar competitions have already been held in countries such as China, the UAE, Qatar, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam. Race broadcasts reach over 86 countries, with a total audience exceeding 900 million viewers.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that holding the UIM F1H2O World Cup on water, which could be the first in Central Asia, will showcase the tourism potential of Issyk-Kul and promote Kyrgyzstan’s national brand on the international stage.
