On February 23, 2026, at the phytosanitary control post "Kyzyl-Kiya," located in the Batken region, specialists from the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine under the Ministry of Agriculture conducted an inspection of 28,762 seedlings brought from Uzbekistan. During the inspection, a problem was identified — the packaging of the products lacked the necessary labeling.
According to the Decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council, adopted on November 30, 2016, under number 157, each package of quarantine products must contain labeling with information about the name of the product, the country of origin, as well as the exporting or re-exporting country.
The absence of labeling when importing quarantine cargo is a violation of the established unified phytosanitary quarantine requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union. As a result, this cargo was returned to the country of import.
