At the meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov expressed his views on the importance of creating a new ministry. According to the government, this decision is part of the country's strategy for modernizing higher education and science.

In his speech, Edil Baisalov emphasized that the ministry should become a powerful center for attracting talented students, a source of relevant knowledge, and a locomotive for the country's development.

“The main task of the new ministry is to make universities centers for attracting talent, sources of modern knowledge, and the main drivers of development for many years to come,” he noted.

Discussing the president's decree on granting special status to several universities, he pointed out the differences in the results achieved.

“Some universities have already taken advantage of the opportunities and demonstrated significant successes, while others are still waiting for clarifications. The waiting time is over,” emphasized Edil Baisalov.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that in the coming weeks, the presidential administration, together with the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations, will strengthen the coordination of modernization processes. This includes reviewing curricula, eliminating outdated subjects, optimizing ineffective areas, and introducing new courses that meet the current demands of the economy.

As a result of the meeting, key areas for reform in the higher education and science system were identified, specific tasks were set, and corresponding instructions were given. The implementation of these decisions will be under strict control.
