Baisalov noted that the establishment of a new ministry is an important step towards a radical renewal of higher education and the scientific sector.
“Our task is to make universities centers of attraction for talent, sources of relevant knowledge, and the main driving forces for the country's development for many years to come,” he emphasized.
During the discussion on the implementation of the presidential decree granting special status to a number of educational institutions, the deputy chairman pointed out the differences in the results achieved.
“Some universities have already taken advantage of new opportunities and demonstrated significant progress. However, there are also those who are still waiting for clarifications. The time for waiting is over,” Baisalov added.
According to him, in the coming weeks, the Presidential Administration and the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations plan to enhance coordination for accelerated modernization. This includes reviewing educational programs, eliminating outdated disciplines, optimizing ineffective areas, and introducing new courses that meet the demands of the modern economy.
As a result of the meeting, priority areas for reforming the higher education and science system were identified, and specific tasks with corresponding assignments were set.
“The implementation of the adopted decisions will be under special control,” the Cabinet noted.
