According to Baysalov, the creation of a new ministry was a significant step towards deep modernization of the higher education system and the scientific sphere in the country.
“The Ministry of Science has been given a clear task: to make universities centers of talent attraction, sources of modern knowledge, and the main drivers of the country's development for many years to come,” noted Edil Baysalov.
Discussing the implementation of the president's decree on granting special status to certain universities, he emphasized the difference in the results achieved.
“Some educational institutions have actively taken advantage of the opportunities provided and demonstrated tangible progress. At the same time, there are those that are still awaiting clarifications and decisions. The era of waiting is over,” he added.
At a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations, key areas for the development of the scientific and educational sphere were identified. The ministry has compiled a list of specific tasks and distributed responsibilities. All decisions made will be under special control.
