According to information from the Ministry of Energy, in 2026, the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" plans to purchase 268 transformers to ensure reliable electricity supply to the population.
As part of the preparation for the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027, work is planned to modernize substations in various regions of the country to increase their capacity.
At 20 substations of high-voltage lines with voltages of 35 and 110 kV, the capacity of transformers will be increased by 256 MVA.
The distribution of transformers by regions is as follows:
• Bishkek — 2 units;
• Jalal-Abad Region — 5 units;
• Issyk-Kul Region — 5 units;
• Naryn Region — 2 units;
• Talas Region — 2 units;
• Chui Region — 4 units.
In addition, to improve service quality and stability of electricity supply in 10/0.4 kV networks, 248 transformers will be installed and modernized, which will allow an additional increase in capacity of 107 MVA.
The distribution of new transformers will be as follows:
• Bishkek — 46 units;
• Osh Region — 46 units;
• Talas Region — 42 units;
• Jalal-Abad Region PES — 29 units;
• Issyk-Kul Region — 28 units;
• Naryn Region — 27 units;
• Batken Region — 22 units;
• Chui Region — 8 units.
These measures will allow for the renewal of equipment in the industry and reduce the load on electrical networks. The Open Joint Stock Company "NESC" will continue its work on modernizing the energy system in accordance with current requirements, as emphasized in the Ministry of Energy's statement.
