In light of recent events related to the resignation of the head of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, there are attempts by certain interested parties to undermine the reputation of the national security agencies in the information space. Such statements and interpretations often have a one-sided nature, aimed at reducing citizens' trust in state institutions. The statement from the State Committee for National Security emphasizes that the employees of these agencies are subordinate to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Kyrgyzstan.
The activities of the national security agencies of Kyrgyzstan are carried out in strict accordance with the Constitution and legislation of the country, with an emphasis on legality, objectivity, and accountability to society. The main focus of the agency's work is to ensure the security of the state, protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as counter terrorism, extremism, corruption, and other threats.
We are confident that any doubts and questions should be resolved within the framework of the law, based on facts and verified information. Attempts to discredit state structures without presenting evidence harm not only the specific agency but also the overall level of trust in society.
We urge representatives of the public, journalists, and high-ranking officials to refrain from harsh criticism of the employees of the State Committee for National Security, who diligently and responsibly fulfill their duties.
The work to ensure the security of the country will continue consistently and purposefully in the interests of the people and the state.
