Found hanged with his own pants: Kumarbek Abdyrov, accused of a series of rapes and murders, died in detention center No. 1

A tragedy occurred in detention center No. 21 of the State Penitentiary Service: Kumarbek Abdyrov, accused of the murder of 17-year-old Aysulu Mukasheva, died in his cell.

According to the press service of the agency, the incident took place on February 7, 2026. At 12:30, the accused A.K.K. was found hanged in his cell, having used his own pants, which were tied to the inner barred door. Despite all attempts by doctors to provide assistance, Abdyrov's life could not be saved.

An investigative operational group from the State Penitentiary Service, accompanied by prosecutors responsible for ensuring legality in institutions, arrived at the scene. An initial investigation is currently underway, forensic medical examinations have been appointed, and all necessary materials have been collected.

It is worth noting that Kumarbek Abdyrov was transferred to detention center No. 1 on December 17, 2025, having previously been held in custody at the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek.

Charges against him were brought on September 30, 2025, when officers from the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region detained him on suspicion of crimes provided for by part 2 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan. On October 1, 2025, the court decided to arrest him, and the period of detention was extended until March 29, 2026.

Abdyrov was accused of several rapes and murders of girls whom he picked up in his taxi. Among his victims were Kamila Duyshaeva and Aysulu Mukasheva.
