A tragic incident occurred in the detention facility No. 21, managed by the State Penitentiary Service. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
According to the information provided by the service, on February 7, 2026, at 12:30 PM, a defendant, A.K.K., was found hanged in one of the cells. He used his pants to commit suicide, attaching himself to the inner grille of the door. Despite attempts to provide medical assistance, the man could not be saved.
A forensic investigative group from the State Penitentiary Service, as well as representatives of the prosecutor's office, which oversees compliance with laws in institutions, arrived at the scene. All necessary materials were collected regarding the incident, and it was registered in the established manner. Forensic examinations have been appointed, and a preliminary investigation is currently underway.
According to available data, the defendant was transferred to SIZO-1 on December 17, 2025, from the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek.
It is worth recalling that his arrest took place on September 30, 2025, on charges of committing a crime under part 2 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The court, in a ruling issued on October 1, 2025, chose a preventive measure in the form of detention, which was later extended until March 29, 2026.
He was accused of a series of rapes and murders of girls whom he picked up as a taxi driver. Among his victims were Kamila Duyshaeva and Aysulu Mukasheva.
