In Dubai, a ministerial roundtable was held as part of the World Government Summit, attended by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry. This was reported by the press service of the government of the republic.
During his speech at the event, Torobaev emphasized that humanity is facing a complex of challenges, including climate, water, food, and social issues. In the face of such challenges, it is necessary to move towards long-term and integrated risk management to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Particular attention was paid to the issue of water resource scarcity against the backdrop of climate change.
Kyrgyzstan, being a mountainous country and a source of rivers in Central Asia, bears significant responsibility for maintaining the sustainability of the region's water ecosystems and actively raises issues of water security on international platforms.
