At the ministerial roundtable held during the summit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev stated that modern society faces numerous challenges, including climate change, water scarcity, food security issues, and social difficulties. He emphasized that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires the implementation of a comprehensive approach to long-term risk management.

During the discussion, the focus was on the water resource deficit caused by climate change.

Torobaev noted that the Kyrgyz Republic, being a mountainous country and a source of rivers in Central Asia, bears a special responsibility for maintaining the resilience of the region's water ecosystems and actively raises water security issues at international forums.
