In his letter, Trump explained that after not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, he no longer feels the need to care about global issues. This became known through information from Nick Shifrin. In particular, Trump wrote: “Since your country did not award me the Nobel Prize for preventing eight wars, I have decided that I can focus on what really matters to the U.S., although the world will always remain a priority.”
He also mentioned that Denmark is unable to protect Greenland from Russia and China and questioned why they are even claiming this territory. Trump noted that historically both sides had their ships that reached these shores.
The President added that he has done more for NATO than any other leader since its founding, and now expects the alliance to support the United States. “The world will not be safe until we gain full control over Greenland,” he concluded. The letter was delivered not only to Støre but also to other European ambassadors through staff at the U.S. National Security Council.
