Venezuelan Opposition Leader Ready to Share Her Nobel Peace Prize with Trump
She suggested that Trump share the Nobel Peace Prize, which she was awarded in October and which is a coveted honor for the U.S. president.
“This is an important step towards a democratic transition, and I want the American people to understand that. This award belongs to the Venezuelan people, and I am ready to share it with them,” said the opposition leader.
Additionally, Machado expressed her intention to return to Venezuela as soon as possible after a change of power.
However, her relationship with Trump remains complicated. Earlier, The Washington Post, citing sources in the White House, reported that Trump was unhappy that Machado did not refuse the award immediately and did not hand it over to him.
Trump's circle viewed this as a "serious mistake," which, in their opinion, could negatively affect her career. Trump also noted that it would be "difficult for Machado to become a leader," emphasizing her lack of support and respect in the country.
