Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in his letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, expressed his intention to stop thinking about global affairs and to focus on the interests of his country after he was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. This information was published by PBS journalist Nick Schifrin on the social network X.

Trump expressed his dissatisfaction that Norway decided not to award him the prize, adding: "Now I don't feel the need to think about the world." He believes that he should have been given this award for preventing more than eight conflicts.

Additionally, in his message, Trump noted that the security of the world depends on the complete control of the United States over Greenland, claiming that Denmark is unable to protect the island from threats posed by Russia and China. The President emphasized the importance of the efforts he made for NATO and urged the alliance to act in America's interests.

In early December, the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the opposition leader of Venezuela, María Corina Machado. In January, she presented the award to Trump; however, the Norwegian Nobel Committee stated that such a transfer is impossible, as the prize is inextricably linked to the laureate. Trump has repeatedly emphasized that his actions in the field of peacekeeping deserve recognition.
