- On January 19, 2026, some flights to Istanbul, Batken, and other destinations were canceled at Manas Airport. The situation was reported by the press service of the Kyrgyzstan Airports JSC.

At the moment, two flights from Turkish Airlines and Pegasus connecting Bishkek and Istanbul have been canceled. The crew of the Air Arabia flight, which was coming from Sharjah (UAE), decided to reroute their flight to Almaty.

Additionally, a flight to Batken from Asman Airlines has been canceled, as well as two Tez Jet flights to Manas, located in the Jalal-Abad region. The cancellations were due to adverse weather conditions at the destination airports.

At the capital's airport, visibility restrictions are indeed observed on January 19; however, the conditions for landing aircraft are generally satisfactory. Currently, visibility is 400-800 meters.

Today, a new lighting signal system has been implemented in test mode at Manas.

“Visibility at the moment allows us to accept flights even with limited visibility, such as 400 meters. Previously, the minimum requirements were 800 meters, and the airport could not accept flights under such conditions, but now it is possible,” the JSC explained.

Previously, the airport operated with a first-category lighting signal system, and it has now been upgraded to the second category. The launch of a third-category system is expected within a week.

The Kyrgyzstan Airports JSC noted that pilots operating aircraft must have certificates that allow them to land at airports equipped with a CAT-3 system.

“Previously, our airport operated on a CAT-1 system, and pilots successfully landed without any issues. Now, however, it is necessary for pilots to undergo additional training and obtain the appropriate certificate before they can safely land,” the company added.
