Energy workers have intensified control over the operation of power grids due to the upcoming cold weather.
According to Kyrgyzhydromet, a sharp deterioration in weather is expected in Kyrgyzstan from January 16 to 17: snowfall is possible, as well as intense precipitation in some areas. Wet snow is forecasted to stick to wires and trees. Fog will also be observed in places. Snow drifts and icy conditions are predicted on the roads, and in the mountains - snow drifts. The strengthening of the western wind may reach 15-20 m/s.
In preparation for possible emergency situations, a reserve for emergency repair work has been created, and schemes for prompt troubleshooting have been developed.
Repair crews, transport, and special equipment have been put on heightened alert.
Constant monitoring of the operational situation is being conducted, and duty schedules for the relevant services have been established.
As low temperatures lead to increased energy consumption, the Ministry of Energy warns of the risk of overload on electrical network equipment due to excessive use of electricity.
The department has called on citizens to conserve energy and recommends avoiding the simultaneous use of several high-power electrical appliances.
For questions regarding electricity supply, citizens can contact the 24-hour call center at the numbers: 105, as well as on mobile numbers of operators: 0772 001209, 0556 001209, and via WhatsApp: 0702 001209.
