According to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, regular fairs will be held in Bishkek and other regions of Kyrgyzstan until June 2026, where local farmers and artisans can showcase their products.
The main purpose of these events is to provide citizens with quality products at affordable prices, support domestic agricultural producers, and prevent price increases on socially significant goods. The ministry assures that there is no shortage of products in the republic, and food supplies are at a sufficient level.
The fairs in the capital are held with the support of the city administration every Saturday and Sunday. Here, products can be purchased directly from producers, eliminating markups from intermediaries. Participants in the fairs are subject to strict requirements: the products must meet sanitary standards, prices must be lower than market prices, and farmers must provide a confirming letter from the district agricultural administration.
