During the "Agrodialog" forum, the Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev presented a report on achievements in the agricultural sector.
He emphasized the main performance indicators from the past year, noting that the total volume of agricultural production reached 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more than in 2024, with a growth rate of 102.2%. In product processing, this volume amounted to 104.7 billion soms, increasing by 16.2 billion soms compared to the previous year, with a growth rate of 130.1%.

Kasymaliev also highlighted positive results in the export sector: over 60 types of agricultural products began to be supplied to more than 80 countries, and the local population is provided with 6 out of 9 key food products.

“These successes have been made possible thanks to your hard work. I want to note that cooperation between government agencies and businesses is becoming increasingly effective. Progress has been made on issues related to fuel, lending, and other relevant topics,” the chairman stated.

Kasymaliev noted that the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030 identifies key directions, such as increasing agricultural production by 30%, doubling the volume of processing, reducing water losses to 15%, increasing the area of irrigated land by 15,000 hectares, and improving water supply to 93,000 hectares of land.

“Given the critical importance of water supply issues, 12.3 billion soms will be allocated to the irrigation sector in 2026,” he added.

The total funding for agriculture is planned at 41.1 billion soms, which is significantly more compared to the 31.5 billion soms allocated in 2025.

Additionally, it is necessary to improve the material and technical base for seed production, breeding livestock, and nurseries in the coming years.

In this context, special attention will be paid to the effective use of preferential lending for the implementation of development projects.

According to Kasymaliev, the government intends to increase the level of agricultural product processing to 25% by 2030 and to 50% by 2040, while currently this figure stands at only 7%.

To achieve these goals, it is necessary to launch 385 new processing enterprises by 2030, of which 75 should start operating in 2026, as well as to develop agro-clusters and value chains.

As an example of successful experiences from other countries, Kasymaliev mentioned the Netherlands, where tulip cultivation generates over 1 billion euros in income, and Turkey, which exports dried apricots worth about 400 million dollars a year.

He noted that Kyrgyzstan has already begun to export dried apricots and emphasized the importance of further efforts to make apricots from Kyrgyzstan known worldwide. The first step in this direction should be the active promotion of local products in the domestic market.

In his opinion, it is necessary to increase the value of domestic goods and to cultivate a culture of their consumption.

Kasymaliev also emphasized the significance of science and education in agriculture, noting that significant contributions are expected from the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University and scientists in the development of this sector.

As part of the forum, a ceremony was held to award employees of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
