- At the "Agrodialog" forum, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev shared important achievements in the agricultural sector. According to him, the volume of agricultural production in the country amounted to 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more than in 2024, with a growth rate of 102.2%. In the processing industry, the production volume reached 104.7 billion soms, which is 16.2 billion soms more than last year, with a growth rate of 130.1%.

Kasymaliev noted that positive results are also observed in the export of agricultural products: more than 60 types of goods are shipped to over 80 countries worldwide. He also added that 6 out of 9 main types of socially significant food products are provided to the country's population.

“These successes are the result of your selfless labor. I want to emphasize that in recent years, the interaction between the state and business has become increasingly effective. We are witnessing significant progress on issues related to fuel, lending, and other aspects. The National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030 outlines key directions, such as increasing agricultural production by 30%, doubling processing, reducing water losses to 15%, and increasing irrigated land by 15,000 hectares. It is important to note that in 2026, 12.3 billion soms will be allocated to the irrigation sector, while the total funding for agriculture will amount to 41.1 billion soms, which is significantly more than in 2025,” he said.

The head of the Cabinet added that in the coming years, it is necessary to focus on strengthening the material and technical base of seed production, breeding livestock, and nurseries, as well as on the effective use of preferential loans for project implementation.

According to him, the government intends to increase the volume of agricultural product processing to 25% by 2030 and to 50% by 2040, while the current level is only 7%. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to open 385 new processing enterprises by 2030, of which 75 are planned to be launched in 2026, as well as to develop agro-clusters and value-added chains.

In his speech, Kasymaliev cited examples of successful countries, such as the Netherlands, which earns over 1 billion euros from tulip sales, and Turkey, which exports dried apricots worth about $400 million a year. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is beginning to bring its dried apricots to the international market and noted the importance of systematic work to increase the recognition of Kyrgyz apricots. The first step should be the active promotion of domestic products in the internal market, enhancing their value, and forming a culture of consumption.
