The project, implemented by the Veterinary Service for Livestock Development, Pastures, and Feed, aims to improve epizootic control and respond promptly to threats related to the spread of particularly dangerous diseases among animals.
The development of this system is being carried out by the state institution "AgroSmart," operating under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
GIS "SUMO" will become a modern web application that provides visualization, accounting, and analysis of veterinary and sanitary information across the country, as stated in the official announcement.
As part of this initiative, it is planned to:
- create an interactive map showing anthrax outbreaks, locations for the disposal of biological waste, and veterinary infrastructure facilities;
- implement a mechanism for accounting veterinary and sanitary measures;
- form a centralized database for analytical purposes, reporting, and decision-making;
- automatically inform responsible services about new outbreaks of the disease;
- integrate with existing state information systems.
The Ministry of Agriculture noted that the implementation of this system will increase the transparency of veterinary processes, enhance disease prevention, and improve the level of biological safety in the country.
