Veterinary control in the Kyrgyz Republic is being transferred to the geographic information system 'SUMO'.

In Kyrgyzstan, the implementation of a digital monitoring system dedicated to anthrax and other particularly dangerous animal diseases is starting. The veterinary service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic has announced the project of the geographic information system "SUMO," which will allow real-time tracking of the epizootic situation across the entire territory of the country.

The state institution "AgroSmart" is responsible for the development of this software complex. The new system will consist of an interactive map that will mark all known and active foci of anthrax, locations for the disposal of biological waste, and veterinary infrastructure facilities. This will enable specialists to abandon paper archives and visualize the sanitary condition of each region on a single digital platform.

In addition to registering foci, the functionality of "SUMO" includes automatic notification of responsible authorities about new threats and the creation of a centralized database for in-depth information analysis. The project will integrate with other state information systems, ensuring complete transparency of veterinary control. It is expected that the digitization of the sector will not only accelerate responses to potential disease outbreaks but also significantly improve biological safety in Kyrgyzstan.
