In the Kyrgyz Republic, a unified geoinformation system for veterinary monitoring is being developed
The main goal of this project is to improve epizootic surveillance and to respond promptly to threats associated with the spread of dangerous animal diseases. The project will also contribute to further digitalization of the veterinary sector in the country. The development of the system is being carried out by the state institution "AgroSmart".
GIS "SUMO" is a modern web application that provides a unified tool for geographic information visualization, accounting, monitoring, and analytical processing of data reflecting the veterinary and sanitary condition of the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of the project implementation, the following key stages are planned:
• development of an interactive map displaying anthrax outbreaks, biological waste disposal facilities, and veterinary infrastructure;
• implementation of a system for accounting veterinary and sanitary measures;
• creation of a centralized database for analytics, reporting, and management decision-making;
• automated notification of responsible services about new disease outbreaks;
• integration with other state information systems of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The launch of the system will enhance the transparency of veterinary processes, improve the effectiveness of preventive measures, and strengthen the biological safety of the country.
The implementation of GIS "SUMO" will be an important step towards the development of modern digital management tools in the field of veterinary medicine and will ensure an up-to-date level of monitoring the epizootic situation in the Kyrgyz Republic.
