The Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" plans to install 390 thousand "smart" meters for the population in 2026 across the country.
This project, implemented with the support of the World Bank, aims to modernize Kyrgyzstan's energy infrastructure.
The distribution of "smart" meters by regions is as follows:
- Bishkek – 91,210 units;
- Chui Region – 89,129 units;
- Osh Region – 68,242 units;
- Batken Region – 54,997 units;
- Jalal-Abad Region – 71,546 units.
The goal of digitalization is to increase the transparency of electricity consumption accounting, reduce losses, both technical and commercial, as well as improve the quality of electricity supply and develop digital infrastructure.
With the help of "smart" meters, it is possible to accurately track electricity consumption in real-time, quickly identify technical malfunctions, prevent unauthorized connections, and generate accurate data for calculations.
In addition, this system contributes to more efficient management of electricity consumption, which will help citizens use energy resources rationally.
