At the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh, held on February 11, 2026, Deputy Medina Kairylbekova expressed dissatisfaction regarding the lack of responses to her questions, which were supposed to be provided in writing.
She noted that she had repeatedly reminded Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev about her inquiries but had received no reaction.
Additionally, the deputy reported on the problems faced by farmers in the Manas district of the Talas region, who encountered difficulties in selling their harvest of bell peppers. "As a result, the peppers are just lying in piles along the road," she added.
In response to this statement, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev claimed that the information provided by Kairylbekova was incorrect. According to him, farmers are actually sorting the peppers before sending them to the market.
"I don't know who gave you that information, but it is not true," Kairylbekova countered.
The session also discussed information from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding preparations for the spring field and economic activities for 2026.
