In 2026, Kyrgyzstan will continue to provide tariff benefits for the import of electric vehicles, while increasing the volume of duty-free imports. This was announced by Elimbek Kanybek uulu, head of the EEU Coordination Department at the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, at a press conference at the Kabar agency.
This year, the quota for duty-free import of electric vehicles was increased from 10,000 to 15,000 units. Initially, this initiative faced some resistance from partners in the EEU; however, it was adopted at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in December 2025.
“This concession applies to both fully electric vehicles and models with a series hybrid drive, including popular cars from the Lixiang/Li Auto brand,” he added.
