The stay period for international carriers from visa-free countries in Russia will be extended.

In Russia, there are plans to extend the stay of international carriers from countries that do not require visas. This issue has become the subject of a new draft government resolution developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, as reported by Irina Volk, the official representative of the agency.

According to her, it is proposed to increase this period to 180 days within a calendar year. "In order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of international transportation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has prepared a draft that implies an increase in the temporary stay of foreigners engaged in international road transport," she noted on her Telegram channel.

Irina Volk also clarified that the extension of the stay will only be possible if an application is submitted electronically through the mobile application "Gosuslugi" (ruID) for the purpose of entry and stay in Russia.

It is important to note that if the application is not submitted, foreign drivers will be able to stay in the country for the standard 90 days per calendar year.
