The 16th round table between Mongolia and the United Kingdom was held

The 16th Mongolian-British round table took place in Ulaanbaatar on March 23.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Amartuvshin Gombosuren and the UK Minister of State for the Indo-Pacific, Commonwealth and Development, Sima Malhotra. Representatives from other ministries also participated in the discussion.


Participants of the meeting emphasized the successes in the development of bilateral relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the United Kingdom. They also noted the need to maintain regular political dialogue and the desire to strengthen partnerships, as well as to actively utilize the potential in trade, economy, and investment. Special attention was given to cultural exchange and educational initiatives.


Within the framework of the round table, participants discussed issues related to climate change, energy transition, and other pressing problems for the international community. The discussion also touched on preparations for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17), which will take place in Mongolia in August.


"The parties reaffirmed their commitment to organizing political dialogue between Mongolia and the United Kingdom and exchanged views on a number of regional and international relations issues," reports MiddleAsianNews.
