
At the meeting, Munkhtamir Batbayar, Deputy Minister, noted that there are only 162 days left until the conference begins. He emphasized the need to intensify preparations and instructed working groups to establish closer cooperation and regularly monitor the fulfillment of their tasks.
Among the participants of the meeting were representatives of 12 working groups created for the preparation for COP17, who discussed both current and upcoming events, as well as important issues. This week, five subcommittees dealing with organizational aspects held their meetings and made the necessary decisions. The contractor for the installation and management of temporary structures in the "Blue Zone" was chosen to be GL events, with which a contract has already been signed.
The holding of COP17 is of immense significance for Mongolia, as this event will draw the attention of the global community to critically important issues related to desertification, land degradation, and climate change. It will also promote the expansion of international cooperation in sustainable land use and "green" development.
