President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhammedov, conducted one of the largest personnel rotations in recent times, signing more than 50 decrees in just two days, which pertain to both dismissals and new appointments. These changes affected the upper echelons of power, including key deputy prime ministers and leaders of security agencies.
Significant changes were made to the Cabinet of Ministers: three deputy prime ministers, namely Mammetkhan Chakeev, Bayramgul Orazdurdyeva, and Batyr Amanov, were replaced by Batyr Annaev, Batyr Mammmedov, and Guvanch Agajanov. There were also reshuffles in several ministries, where new ministers took key positions in the fields of healthcare, environmental protection, and the food industry. Many of the former officials left their positions due to retirement or transition to other jobs.
Equally significant were the changes in the security bloc and infrastructure sector. Thus, the Minister of National Security Nazar Atagarayev was relieved of his duties, and Dovletgeldi Meredov was appointed in his place. A new Ministry of Highways was also established, headed by Hangeldi Kerimov. Personnel changes also affected the regions: the president replaced the mayors of major cities, including Turkmenbashi, Turkmenabat, and Mary.
