Initiatives for the Development of Ulaanbaatar Discussed with the Australian Ambassador


Nyambaatar highlighted the significance of Australia as a key partner and investor in the Asia-Pacific region during the conversation. He shared the measures being taken in Ulaanbaatar to minimize problems with air pollution and traffic congestion. These include the transition to semi-coke fuel, which has already reduced pollution levels by 30%, as well as connecting residents to gas supply, banning the use of old cars, and implementing major infrastructure projects. The mayor also expressed interest in collaborating with Australia in the development of engineering and technical competencies, as well as in future infrastructure initiatives.

Ambassador Zen positively assessed the efforts of the city authorities, noting that air pollution and traffic issues pose challenges for many countries. He emphasized that Ulaanbaatar has significantly developed over the past 20 years, and the city's population is rapidly increasing. The ambassador confirmed Australia's commitment to supporting the capital of Mongolia and expressed readiness to cooperate on future projects and initiatives that align with the city's priorities.
