A New Park Covering 4.5 Hectares Will Open in Ulaanbaatar

Starting in 2026, the capital of Mongolia plans to increase green spaces and public parks to create more opportunities for recreation and entertainment for residents
As part of the greening program, work will be carried out around Nogoong-Nuur and along the eastern avenue of the Gandantegchinlen Monastery in Ulaanbaatar. An increase in population and the development of new residential areas are observed in the 9th, 10th, and 11th khoros of the Sukhbaatar district. In accordance with the "15-minute city" concept, this area will be transformed into a convenient and accessible urban environment. In this regard, 4.5 hectares of land will be cleared around Nogoong-Nuur to create a park with an artificial lake. The new park will include green zones, open spaces, bike paths, and parking areas. The area around the 16th khoroo in the Bayangol district, near Gandan, is also being modernized, where preparatory work is currently underway.
Additionally, this year, the implementation of 48 projects for landscaping and construction will continue, including playgrounds, football fields, pedestrian paths, and other public spaces in the capital of Mongolia.
In 2026, the city also plans to introduce 24 new initiatives for greening and development.
