Mongolia Will Import Fuel from China in the Long Term

During the second day of his visit to China, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia, Damdinnyam Gongor, held a meeting with the leadership of CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation).

The parties discussed options for increasing fuel supply volumes, ensuring supply stability, and developing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.

Representing Mongolia's position, Minister Gongor noted that the country aims for sustainable satisfaction of its internal fuel needs. CNPC representatives also shared the company's plans to ensure stable supplies to the Mongolian market and expressed their intention to improve delivery efficiency and strengthen cooperation in the future.

Mongolia is entirely dependent on fuel imports, with 95% coming from Russia and the remaining 5% from China. During the official visit, the parties agreed to expand the volumes of gasoline and other fuel imports from China.
