Yulia Tymoshenko, the former Prime Minister of Ukraine and leader of the "Batkivshchyna" faction, has become the subject of a corruption investigation. According to Ukrainian media, she has been served with a notice of suspicion regarding bribery of members of the Verkhovna Rada, which could have influenced their voting.

According to a representative of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Olga Postolyuk, the investigation has sufficient evidence to bring charges. Furthermore, anti-corruption authorities are examining the involvement of about 20 deputies from other factions who may have received money for supporting certain legislative proposals.

Tymoshenko has denied all accusations, calling them a "political order".

She reported that searches were conducted at her party's office.

On her Facebook page, she spoke about prolonged investigative actions that took place throughout the night. "They found nothing except my work phones, parliamentary documents, and personal belongings, the information about which is fully reflected in the official declaration," she noted.

Tymoshenko served as Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2005 and then from 2007 to 2010. In 2004, she played a key role in the "Orange Revolution" alongside Viktor Yushchenko. Throughout her career, she has run for the presidency of Ukraine three times: in 2010, 2014, and 2019.

During Viktor Yanukovych's presidency, several criminal cases were initiated against Tymoshenko. In August 2011, she was arrested, and in October of that year, she was sentenced to 7 years in prison for exceeding her authority in signing gas contracts with Russia in January 2009. Tymoshenko was released in February 2014 during the events of Maidan.
