Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the establishment of a coordination headquarters to manage the situation in Kyiv and the introduction of a state of emergency in the energy sector. The company "Ukrenergo" announced the implementation of hourly electricity outage schedules and power restrictions for industrial users across the country. Governor of the Volgograd region Andrei Bocharov reported that air defense forces successfully repelled a drone attack on transport and energy infrastructure in the region. As a result of the attack by Russian troops on the Zaporizhzhia region, two local residents were injured, and a store and a private house were destroyed. In the Rostov region, drone attacks damaged a kindergarten. On the night of January 14, several residential buildings and enterprises in the Dnipropetrovsk region were also damaged due to shelling. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the candidacy of Denys Shmyhal for the position of Minister of Energy and First Deputy Prime Minister. Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov became the new Minister of Defense. A bill was also passed extending martial law and mobilization in Ukraine for another 90 days until May 4.
