Russian TV presenter Solovyov called Central Asia "ours" and allowed for a special military operation in Russia's spheres of influence. Armenia handed a note of protest to the Russian ambassador.

Solovyov emphasized that events in the near abroad are far more significant for Russia than the military actions of the United States in Venezuela or claims on Greenland. “We need to focus not on Venezuela and Syria, but on what is happening in Armenia. The loss of this country is a real disaster,” he stressed, adding that problems in Central Asia could also pose serious challenges for Russia.
He called for a clear formulation of Russia's goals and objectives, stating that “the games are over.” Solovyov continued: “If it was necessary for our national security to start a special military operation in Ukraine, then why can’t we do the same in other regions of our influence?”
The TV host suggested developing a national doctrine that would clearly define Russia's spheres of influence to avoid misunderstandings.
In response to these statements, the Armenian Foreign Ministry handed a note of protest to the Russian ambassador, expressing its deep indignation regarding the statements made on the state television channel. The ministry noted that such words represent an unacceptable encroachment on Armenia's sovereignty and violate the principles of friendly relations between the countries.
“These statements are a hostile manifestation and violate the fundamental principles of friendly relations between Armenia and Russia,” the Armenian Foreign Ministry emphasized (quote from NEWS.am).
