After Vladimir Solovyov's remarks about the possibility of military intervention in Armenia, Russia's ambassador to that country, Sergey Kopyrkin, was summoned to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by Meduza.

In one of his recent broadcasts, Solovyov expressed the opinion that Russia should, like the U.S. in Venezuela, "ignore international law" and consider the possibility of forceful intervention in the affairs of Armenia and Central Asian countries to keep them within Russia's "sphere of influence."

"For us, the loss of Armenia is much more painful than the events in Venezuela," Meduza quotes Solovyov. "The loss of Armenia is a colossal problem. […] We must disregard international law if it is necessary for our national security. If we started a special military operation in Ukraine, then why can't we do this in other regions of our sphere of influence?"

In response to these statements, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed a note of protest to the Russian ambassador, expressing "deep outrage" over the comments made on the state television channel. The ministry noted that such statements do not correspond to the spirit of friendship between Moscow and Yerevan.
